Joe Lieberman - One Choice in Iraq

Democratic Senator Joe Lieberman (CN) understands the issues in Iraq. His Op-Ed piece in the Washington Post is a well presented case for why the Democrats and others calling for immediate troop withdrawl from Iraq are confused and are responding just as al_Qaeda hopes they will.

His argument is simple: “When politicians here declare that Iraq is “lost” in reaction to al-Qaeda’s terrorist attacks and demand timetables for withdrawal, they are doing exactly what al-Qaeda hopes they will do, although I know that is not their intent.”

“The challenge before us, then, is whether we respond to al-Qaeda’s barbarism by running away, as it hopes we do — abandoning the future of Iraq, the Middle East and ultimately our own security to the very people responsible for last week’s atrocities — or whether we stand and fight.

To me, there is only one choice that protects America’s security — and that is to stand, and fight, and win.”

Sheryl Crow: Not a square to spare

Like some strange rerun of the Seinfeld show in the twightlight zone, Sheryl Crow has now gone off the deep end by suggesting that the earth has not a square of toilet paper to share. Being a tree hugger is one thing but suggesting that somehow all persons should be limited to using one square of toilet paper per visit the bathroom is idiotic.

Sheryl also notes in the interest of saving trees we should also forgo using paper napkins and wipe our mouths and hands on our clothing sleeves. According to the ever intelligent Crow: “I think this idea could also translate quite well to those suffering with an annoying head cold.”

Perhaps this explains Lance Armstrong no longer dating Crow. His idea of the appropriate dress for ones arm is a ‘livestrong” band not a sleeve covered in snot.

Almost one-fifth of US adults interested in getting an iPhone

Harris Interactive surveyed 1,116 adults aged 18-years or more across the US in mid-February, and its findings confirm that a full 17% of adults in US are very interested in getting an Apple iPhone. The most amazing statistic is that about 10% of those are planning on getting one as soon as the product is formally released. (count me in that 10%!)
