Murphy
Murphy, black labrador seen here with his buddies, is our ambassador. Murphy was found running at large Febuary of 2004. He was taken to the local shelter with his brother, Hokie. When his owner was contacted he replied he would come pick up one of his boys. Well, nine long days passed for the boys and it was looking like both were homeless. At last, their owner showed up and sprung one of his dogs, leaving sweet Murphy behind. From that day forward Murphy has been here with us and has been a complete gentleman. It took Murphy weeks of watching the other labs here before he felt comfortable enough to join in the games. At first he would circle around Tia and Sienna, trying to entice them with a stick. The two of them, being as close as they are, didn’t even notcie Murphy. Patiently he waited, until one day he was allowed “in” and now is just one of the gang. Murphy is such a sweet soul and is always the first to meet our fosters. He always extends a warm greeting and makes all the dogs that come through feel welcome. Murphy is a foster dog, and one day, when an extrodinary home comes along, it will be time to say good bye to Murphy too. Until that day, Murphy will be a special part of everyday here at Twin Maples. UPDATE: Murphy has been adopted by Gretchen, a vet student. Another hard good bye, but I know he will have a fantastic home. We look forward to hearing of Murphy’s latest adventures from Gretchen, his new best friend.
