40 Percent of the Fortune 100 Use Alliance Software for Integration in the Net Economy; Alliance also Introduces Netscape Application Server Process Automation Edition and Netscape ECXpert 3.0
The Sun-Netscape Alliance (Alliance) today unveiled
iPlanet Commerce Integration Suite, a new suite of e-commerce application
and server software that enables companies to build and deploy online trading
communities that tie together customers, partners and suppliers and leverage
existing systems internally and cross corporate boundaries. The Sun-Netscape
Alliance also announced Netscape Application Server Process Automation
Edition for automating cross-company business processes and Netscape ECXpert
3.0, an upgrade to the Alliance’s leading commerce exchange application.
These new solutions, in addition to existing integration solutions built
on Netscape Application Server and Netscape Directory Server, bring integration
to the next level by enabling companies to leverage their existing applications,
transact business with their customers, partners and suppliers, and automate
and manage cross-company processes in the Net Economy.
Netscape
Custom Netcenter enables an enterprise to establish a proprietary corporate
portal that personalizes user access and centralizes information and services
for its employees and partners. This provides user experience and encourages
repeat visits. In addition, it allows an enterprise to leverage the existing
infrastructure, content, and services of Netscape Netcenter to save time
and money and quickly bring its content and services to market.
iPlanet Webtop is an open standards, Internet-based remote access solution that allows authorized access to resources behind the firewall. It allows an enterprise to rapidly--and inexpensively--deploy and manage a remote access solution. Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)-based security features help protect information and control access. Using a Java-based web browser, authorized mobile and remote users can log on from any system, anywhere, and quickly access business-critical information, services, and applications.
Rapid, cost-effective deployment
As an Internet-based solution, iPlanet Webtop
does not require client-side software installation, management, or configuration.
An Internet-based connection — as opposed to VPNs or private dial-up lines
— means investments in dedicated modems and remote access servers, WATS
(800 number toll-free) calls, and related management and user support costs
can be minimized, lowering the cost of remote access.
At the conference, best techniques, strategies and tools needed to take advantage of the Internet will be discussed. Attending the conference series will be like-minded company decision-makers with whom you can also share and develop your business ideas.
At the briefing, find out how iPlanet solutions
helps you:
The Sun-Netscape Alliance [Alliance], a leading provider of e-commerce applications and Internet infrastructure solutions, today announced the iPlanet Unified User Management Suite, a complete solution for centrally managing user account information in extranet and e-commerce applications. Powered by the iPlanet Directory Server, the suite provides a single point of account control for user profiles, access policies, preferences and security credentials such as passwords and digital certificates across enterprise systems linked with suppliers, partners and customers in the exploding Net Economy.
Designed to leverage a common user management
infrastructure, the iPlanet Unified User Management Suite enables rapid
deployment of new web services, differentiated levels of security, and
reduced administrative costs of managing user information in multiple directories.
The suite bundles together four infrastructure products with the iPlanet
Directory Server, including iPlanet Certificate Management
System, iPlanet Meta-Directory, iPlanet Delegated Administrator, and Netegrity
SiteMinder, a third party policy management server.
