Netscape goes Navy!

On September 12, 1998 we were fortunate to visit the aircraft carrier the  USS Constellation.  Jim Barksdale (CEO), Peter Currie (CFO), and John Menkart (Director DoD Sales) were on the Connie overnight and were hosted by Captain Don Bullard and RADM Greg 'Grog' Johnson.

This trip presented a unique opportunity for us to achieve a better understanding of our DoD customer and their requirements.  This is the photographic record of our visit.

Prior to our departure from North Island in San Diego we were briefed by ADM Mike Bowman

We dressed in the latest Naval Aviator Garb
.

We were to fly on a COD to the Constellation off the California Coast and be 'trapped'
(Trapped - captured on landing on the deck of the carrier with Tailhook on the wires)
COD - Nickname of fixed wing aircraft used for supplies and passengers {shown above})

RADM 'Grog' Johnson explains the approach and carrier landing to Jim during flight out

After a sucessful 'trap' the cargo hatch opens to the deck of the 'Connie'

Touring the ship allowed us to see all the sights.

Down on the flight deck with the L.S.O.s
(LSO - Landing Support officers)
